How much does RV storage cost?

Last updated October 2026

It varies a lot by place and by type of space. One RV storage operator puts uncovered parking at about $50 to $100 a month, covered at $100 to $150, and indoor at $150 to $300 or more.

Those ranges come from RecNation, which runs RV and boat storage. It says they reflect “national averages compiled from commercial operators,” based on its own research, so treat them as estimates. It adds that busy urban areas can reach $250 to $300 or more.

Local prices can be far apart. On October 19, 2026, Public Storage showed these vehicle storage prices:

These prices change often, so check the live page for your area.

Size matters too. A long motorhome needs a longer space than a pop-up camper, and a covered or enclosed space has to be tall enough for the roof and AC unit.

Power can change the price. Spaces with an outlet are rarer, and some facilities charge a separate electric fee. See how storage facilities bill for electricity.

When you compare quotes, ask:

  • Is the price for this exact length and type of space?
  • Is power at the space included, extra, or not available?
  • Are there admin fees, insurance requirements, or rate increases after move-in?
  • Is there a gate, cameras, or staff on site?

The cheapest uncovered lot can cost more in the end if sun and weather wear down the RV or the batteries die.
