How do I find RV storage with electrical hookups?
Last updated October 2026
Look for RV storage that lists power at each space, then ask how many amps. On this site, 251 facilities confirm power for RV, boat, or car spaces on their own websites.
Most of what’s offered is a charging outlet, not a campground-style hookup. RecNation says its covered and enclosed units have outlets “available for battery charging.” Fillmore Covered RV Storage in Colorado Springs says each covered space has an outlet “to trickle charge your RV battery.” RV PRO reported that Carefree Covered RV Storage includes charging outlets free for customers.
That’s different from full shore power. Airstream explains that a 30 amp RV cord carries up to 3,600 watts and a 50 amp cord up to 12,000 watts, while a regular household outlet is fine for keeping batteries charged but can’t run the RV at full power.
Few facilities state the amps at all. Of the 251 with vehicle power, 57 name a figure; across our listings, 28 mention 30 amp service and 26 mention 50 amp service.
Before you book a space, ask:
- Is there an outlet at this space, or a shared one nearby?
- Is it a standard outlet, 30 amp, or 50 amp?
- Can I leave the RV plugged in while I’m away?
- Is power included, or billed by the month or by use?
If you only need to keep the batteries charged, a standard outlet and a battery maintainer usually do the job. If you want to run the RV the way you would at a campground, you need a 30 or 50 amp space.
